[Navigator], we have arrived in the vicinity of Tail Street. This area likely belongs to the Rediesel Wrench. I will not fly any closer.
Navigator:
That's fine Soroz, we'll just land outside of Tail Street. I don't blame you for feeling uncomfortable, after what the Rediesel Wrench did last time.
Vice:
This place is much smaller than I imagined. Come on, let's get to the bottom of this "supernatural activity" as soon as possible!
Soroz:
I wish you luck on your mission.
Navigator:
This is kind of chilling... Where is everybody? I thought we would have to sneak into this place, but...
Vice:
You're right, I don't think anyone lives here at all. It's completely deserted... Is this really part of the Rediesel Wrench's turf? It's hard to believe, since it's so quiet.
Navigator:
There's a chance that this "supernatural activity" is the real deal, Vice...
Vice:
Hm... Don't you think there's something strange about this?
Navigator:
What do you mean? Don't hauntings usually happen in abandoned places like this? The only thing I think is strange is the reward they're offering for this job. I really think you've been tricked, Vice.
Vice:
Ugh, not that! Take a careful look! All the doors and windows here are tightly closed, and they're in perfectly fine condition. If we look into details... If you wipe your hand here, or any of these places... There's no dust.
Navigator:
But there's nobody in sight. Are you saying this place isn't abandoned?
Vice:
If a place has been abandoned for a long time, there would at least be a layer of dirt or dust on things, right? But these buildings are all relatively clean.
Navigator:
You're right... It's as if someone has been maintaining Tail Street at regular intervals.
Vice:
There should be plenty of shattered windows and missing doors too, don't you think?
Navigator:
Have you been in a situation like this before?
Vice:
No, but don't most ghost stories start like this?
Navigator:
You have a point. Should we try knocking on some doors?
Vice:
Yeah, let's split up and try that.
The screen fades to black before Tail Street fades back into view.
Vice:
We're back here again. This place really is small, after all. I didn't find any clues on my side. Do you think I was not knocking loudly enough?
Navigator:
No way, even I could hear your knocking. I mean, if there were really any ghosts here, I'm pretty sure you scared them away...
Vice:
What about you? Any luck?
Navigator:
No.
Vice:
Did you really try to look for clues?
Navigator:
Hey, I even used my psychic abilities to scope out the area! There's nothing here.
Vice:
Eh, so how are we supposed to complete this odd assignment, then? We haven't made any progress! Wait, I know! Most supernatural stuff happens in the dead of night, right? I bet we'll find some answers once the sun goes down!
Navigator:
You don't give up, do you. Fine, let's go back to Soroz and wait there. This place gives me the creeps...
Vice:
Agreed. Let's go...
The screen pulses a few times and zooms in on Vice.
Vice:
...!
Navigator:
What's up?
Vice:
Wait a second.
Navigator:
... I feel it, too...Behind us?
Vice:
Yes. Three of them... No, there's more. They're close...
Navigator:
Understood. Did you bring your weapons?
Vice:
Hmph, do you even need to ask?
Eclipsite:
Graaaah...!
Vice:
Let's just chalk up the "supernatural activity" to these Eclipsites and wipe them out.
Vice:
What a breeze! Now that I think about it, maybe this job wasn't as complicated as I had imagined. It makes sense if the "supernatural activity" was nothing more than an Eclipsite trouble.
Navigator:
Sounds like a reasonable conclusion to me.
Vice:
Uh...
Navigator:
Why do you look so disappointed?
Vice:
Let's take another look around and make sure we got all of the Eclipsites here. We'll head back to Umbraton once we're done and look for another job. This one isn't worth our while here. Huh?
Navigator:
Did you find something else?
Vice:
Look at this bamboo basket!
Navigator:
Hmm? Let me see... Apples, cherries...And a big watermelon, too. Someone carved a smiley-face into the watermelon...
Vice:
All of these fruits look pretty fresh... Are you sure you didn't sense anyone else here, [Navigator]?
Navigator:
Yeah. Either someone left this basket here before we arrived, or... There's a presence here that even I can't detect.
Vice:
How about... Spirits?
Navigator:
S-Stop... You're giving me goosebumps... Wait, you're from Illumina! How could you believe in superstitious stuff like that? Also, what kind of ghost would leave a fruit basket in front of someone's house?
Vice:
There can only be one conclusion. There are people living in these houses. As for why there's nobody here...Maybe they all went somewhere?
Whoosh--
Navigator:
What's that sound?
Vice:
What?
Whoosh--
Navigator:
Look! Is the fruit basket...shaking?
Vice:
Are there still Eclipsites nearby? I don't sense anything...
