Navigator: |
So you said you have a clue about the thing I've lost?
Leona: |
Possibly... But you have to tell me what you've lost first.
Navigator: |
It's that Firefly.
Leona: |
That Firefly?
Navigator: |
Yeah, that Firefly. It's similar to the ones in the Colossus, but a little special. It makes this purring noise, and likes to rub against people.
Leona: |
Well, speaking from pernsonal experience, it sounds like you're referring to a creature known as cats.
Navigator: |
Now that you mention it, they are pretty similar.
Leona: |
So why does the Firefly you're lookin for seem so similar to a cat?
Navigator: |
When I was a kid, it used to accompany me until I fell asleep every night.
(Memory of the Firefly purring in the Colossus Hallway)
Navigator: |
This little Firefly would come to my bedside whenever I had trouble sleeping. It would cuddle up to me and purr.
(Cafe background)
Navigator: |
So, have you seen this Firefly around?
Leona: |
If you are talking about a cat-like Firefly, it's with Sunstone.
Navigator: |
Sunstone? You mean your little dragon?
Leona: |
Yes.
Navigator: |
What's Sunstone doing with that Firefly?
Leona: |
It's Sunstone's mating season right now. Part of her courtship ritual is gathering treasures and giving them to the dragon she loves. And that dragon... is Vivian's dragon. Sunstone seems to have taken a liking to her. But it also seems that the dragon doesn't care much for Sunstone. No matter how many gifts Susntone gives her, she just doesn't care. But Sunstone hasn't given up. During this season, she will keep gathering treasure like crazy to give to the one she loves. Maybe Sunstone is just hoping that love will find a way in the end. Even thought I don't think sending more gifts will change that dragon's feelings... Sunstone just keeping pushing forward without turning back. What a poor, stubborn little girl.
Navigator: |
Little girl?
Leona: |
Yeah, Sunstone and Curie are both girls. C'mon kid, it's not THAT shocking. As afar as dragons are concerned, strengthis the only thing that matter in a partner, so that's what they are after. Aside from that, they're not really restricted by anything.
Navigator: |
B... But... Then...
Leona: |
What?
Then... Can you ask Sunstone to give me back my Firefly?
Leona: |
About that... There's nothing I can do.
Navigator: |
Why?
Leona: |
When Sunstone wants to gather things, nothing and no one can stop her.
But taking others' belongings without permission is stealing...
Leona: |
To be frank, I wouldn't call this stealing. Sunstone is incapable of understanding the concept of ownership.
Navigator: |
Thats sounds like sophistry.
Leona: |
But taht's just the way it is. Let alone your Firefly.
Leona: |
Let alone your Firefly. Even if it was the cushion on the Lord of Lumopolis' throne, Sunstone would grab it if she likes it. And I have no way of stopping her. It's only during this time that she won't listen to a word I say.
Navigator: |
I wonder... Why would a seat cushion be considered a dragon's treasure? Even if it IS the cushion on the Lord of Lumopolis' throne... Would that really help with finding a mate?
Leona: |
Your guess is as good as mine. It could be that Sunstone's crush likes those particular things. After all, their idea of treasure is different from ours.
Navigator: |
It's pretty different, yes.
Leona: |
Even so, considering it is your Firefly, I think an apology is in order. So I'll let you in on something. Sunstone usually hides those treasures she found on the Colossus in a corner of the rec room. They're under a pile of scrap paper.
Navigator: |
What do you mean by usually? This isn't the first time she's done this?
Navigator: |
Suprised? I've already told you where it is, so go get it.
(Recreation room background)
Navigator: |
A pile of scrap paper in a corner... This should be it. This pile is huge... How many things has she hidden here? *Drawcloser*
Sunstone: |
Grrrr!
Navigator: |
N-No scratching! No fire-breathing!
Sunstone: |
Grrrr!
Navigator: |
I-I think she's mad!
Leona: |
I told you, no one can get close to her during mating season.
Navigator: |
Leona? When did you get here?
Leona: |
I've been behind you this whole time. I don't have a choice. My little Sunstone stole from you, so I of course have to lend a hand. But judging from this now... Sunstone truly thinks all these things are hers, and she's defending her territory.
Navigator: |
Wh-What should we do now?
Leona: |
Let me think... Sunstone looks pretty upset, so a direct approach is out of the question. We need to distract her. That way, you can grab your Firefly while she's not looking.
Navigator: |
Good idea! So how do we draw Sunstone's attention?
Leona: |
With another Firefly, of course.
Navigator: |
Another one? You want to swap a new Firefly for mine?
Leona: |
No, I don't mean an actual Firefly.
(Illustration of the Firefly kidnapped by Sunstone in the Colossus Hallway)
Leona: |
Sunstone took a liking to your Firefly, not because it's a Firefly but because of the purring sound it makes.
(Recreation room background)
Leona: |
That sound is new and interesting to Sunstone, so she's drawn to it. We'll need something that makes the same sound.
In other words... we need to find a cat.
Navigator: |
And have it purr for Sunstone.
Leona: |
Good idea. But... are there any cats on the Colossus? Should we go out now and try to catch one?
Navigator: |
(I don't know if Philyshy counts as a cat... Ah, never mind...) None of them works...
Let's try to find another Firefly that can purr like mine.
Leona: |
Good idea. But do you actually have another purring Firefly? If you did, I don't think you would be so anxiously searching for this Firefly.
Navigator: |
You guessed it... That Firefly of mine is one-of-a-kind.
Leona: |
So, why don't we do it in a simpler way? Alright kid, go stand in that corner and start purring.
Navigator: |
What?
Leona: |
I can't make a such weak sound, so you'll have to do it. Go to the opposite corner and start purring, so Sunstone will go towards you. I'll grab your Firefly while she's distracted.
Navigator: |
Okay. Whew... Whew... Purrpurr!
Leona: |
That's good, keep going!
Navigator: |
Purrpurr!
Sunstone: |
Grrr?
Navigator: |
Purrpurr!
Sunstone: |
Grrrrrrr?
Navigator: |
Purrpurrpurr! Purrpurrpurrr! Aaaaah! Don't grab me!
Sunstone: |
Grrrr!
Navigator: |
D-Don't grab me back to your treasure pile! I'm not a treasure!
Sunstone: |
Grrrrrrr? Grr...
Navigator: |
S-She flew off disappointedly? But my firefly...
???: |
Purrpurr...
Navigator: |
Huh? Was that my Firefly? It flew to me! Thank you so much, Leona!
Leona: |
I didn't really do anything. You did all of the hard work. I just made a recording of your purring, by the way...
Navigator: |
What?
Leona: |
Yep! Even though the purring sound just now was from a Caelestite, Sunstone still liked it. So I guess if I play this sound for her more often, she should stop wanting to steal your Firefly.
Navigator: |
That makes sense...
Leona: |
At least it's better than a seat cushion, right?
Navigator: |
Yes, indeed. But something still seems wrong to me.
