When a Data Disk is generated, there's a chance Navigators will obtain a disk containing Data Fragments. These can be obtained after clearing any difficulty. These Data Fragments will be displayed as special drops.
Once all the data in the database has been unlocked, Data Fragments will no longer be obtained when generating Data Disks.

Data Fragments may be used in the Database in the Simulation Room. By using Data Fragments in the Database, Navigators will be able to unlock intel clues and intel. After unlocking four pieces of intel in the Database, Navigators will be able to obtain intel rewards. These are Books which can be stored and read in the Cafe on the Colossus.
