Attributes are an important aspect of Alchemy Stars. There are four attributes: Fire, Forest, Thunder, and Water. Each Aurorian has a primary attribute, and 6-star and 5-star Aurorians have an additional secondary attribute that gets unlocked with their third Ascension.

Chain Combos can only be triggered when an Aurorian connects enough tiles of their respective element on the Alchemy Board. Only the Captain can ignore this, and release their Chain Combo regardless. But because of that, attributes are an important part of combat, and something to pay attention to when making a Formation.

Attributes are a manifestation of Lumina energy in Aurorians through the use of Luminatics, allowing them to shape the energy into the four elements. Lumina is nevertheless present in the outside world in the form of the Light Trail, even if it is unable to be directly utilized like the Aurorians are able to.

Counter Damage[]

Counter Circle

Depending on an Aurorian's attribute, they can either deal more or less damage to enemies. As seen in the counter circle (left), it shows which attributes are effective against each other.

Attributes that are advantageous against another one will deal 120% of their normal damage against targets with that disadvantageous attribute.

Attributes that are disadvantageous against another one will only deal 80% of their normal damage against targets with that advantageous attribute.

For example, a Thunder Aurorian will do 120% of their normal damage against a Water Enemy. But a Thunder Aurorian will only do 80% of their normal damage against a Forest Enemy.

Additionally, leveling an Aurorian's Equipment Skill can increase their attribute counter damage.
